What is the project about?

The Cancer Mission Ideas Lab was designed to initiate transdisciplinary cancer research projects that support the European Cancer Mission. Selected participants were brought together in an intensive three-day ideation process, where they established connections across disciplines and received support in developing concrete project concepts. The most promising project ideas were subsequently refined and selected for funding.

What is the goal of the project?

The goal was to bring together people with diverse professional, academic, and personal backgrounds to collaboratively develop innovative ideas for cancer research and healthcare.

Participants had the opportunity to connect with individuals from different disciplines and walks of life, gain new perspectives, and co-create innovative approaches to addressing challenges in cancer research and care. The structured format supported the development of project ideas, facilitated access to new collaborations, and created concrete opportunities for the further development and funding of promising initiatives.

How are participants involved in the project?

Participants were actively involved in all phases of the ideation process. They collaborated in analyzing challenges and unmet needs, generating project ideas, forming project teams, and developing concrete project outlines.

The following methods were used: World Café, facilitated group processes, and co-creation methods (collaborative ideation formats). In addition, digital tools and AI applications were employed to support ideation and project development.
