Um was handelt es sich bei diesem Material?

Impact cases are case studies that illustrate the many ways in which research – especially transdisciplinary and participatory research – has an impact on society. Often, purely quantitative indicators are used to measure impact, but they cannot fully represent the multidimensional nature of research impact. Impact cases offer the considerable advantage of describing complex interrelations of how societal impact unfolds. They do not only document the reach but also emphasize the significance of the societal impact.

The LBG OIS Center works with the ‘Impact and Engagement Study’ template to develop an impact case. This template provides a structure on how to build an impact case systematically. Reflective questions allow research teams to think about the pathways from research activities towards societal benefits. The resulting report can be used as a basis to illustrate the added value of research for society.
